Previously, we covered one pretty important reason people consider becoming a real estate agent: money.
Compensation is nice – especially when you make a great living by providing stellar customer service to your clients – but it’s not the only motivating factor.
Many of us here at LAH Real Estate became real estate pros because we believe very strongly in something that many people think has gone away: the American Dream.
Over the past century, previous generations believed in the American Dream: that you can raise a family, have a steady job, enjoy your freedom, and own a home of your very own. Well, guess what – homeownership is still very much a part of the American Dream, and it’s something we help people achieve on a daily basis.
Here, we’ll talk about how you can live your dream as a real estate agent by helping others live their dream.
Do Something Worthwhile
Helping people achieve their dreams is something that’s always worth pursuing. It’s not every day that you find a career that allows you to help change people’s’ lives – but that’s exactly what real estate does.
The fact that an agent’s day-to-day job is to bring families one step closer to unlocking a dream is exactly why most of us got into this business. There aren’t many things that are more fulfilling than helping people. And when you can help them do something they’ve always wanted to do, you feel a sense of true accomplishment.
To us, being in the real estate industry is personally fulfilling because we know we are helping. Every time we hand over a set of keys to new owners – whether it’s an individual, a young couple, a family with children, or a pair of empty-nesters looking forward to their future – we know we have helped our clients do something amazing.
And buying a home is amazing – and will always be a part of the dreams that many Americans have for themselves and their families.
When choosing a career, choose one that has meaning. Becoming a real estate agent is one way you can make a difference. You can help clients feel like they have the American Dream in their hands when they hold their keys and walk through the front door of their new home, as owners, for the first time.
