One of the most attractive aspects of being an agent in this business is the concept of being an independent contractor. You can leave LAH at any time if you decide that such a move is in your best interest; no notice is required. Our job as owners, managers and staff of this company is to create an environment in which you, the agent, can succeed. We continually strive to maintain a positive office atmosphere with all the necessary tools to assure your production. We have a vested interest in you. We fully understand and appreciate the fact that we succeed if, and only if, the agents in this company succeed. Contrast our position with the company that charges you a desk fee and offers high commission splits. Our income depends on you generating commissions, theirs does not.
LAH has chosen to be a full service, independent company. We could enlist in one of the franchises tomorrow. We’ve had some very generous offers to do so but we believe our model is better. We believe the full service approach, an approach which offers you a marketing department, a technology staff, continuing education, a relocation department, a full service commercial department and owners who are accessible, makes for a more professional and productive agent. We have worked hard since our inception in April of 1992 to earn a reputation of having the most professional agents in our markets. We’re not perfect. We have lost agents in the past, but we continue to strive to be the best in the industry.
An interesting thing we have learned over the years is that when agents leave a company, it is almost never over commission splits. We have some of the most successful agents in the marketplace at LAH and most of them have been with us for many years. Think for a minute about who our agents are. You probably know many of them; they are smart, professional, and successful. Every one of our agents has been recruited by other companies. Why do you think they have chosen to stay at LAH?
